Who Is Kate Coldrick – Writer, Educator & Literacy Tutor

Who is Kate Coldrick?

I’m Kate Coldrick — a writer, educator, literacy tutor and creative project-maker based in Woodbury in Devon. My work spans inclusive literacy support, neurodiversity, reading for pleasure, children’s literature, and creative storytelling. Across my websites, I explore how books, stories, place and learning shape the lives of children, young people and families.

I’ve taught for more than 25 years across mainstream schools, specialist settings and home-education environments, and I work closely with autistic, ADHD and other neurodivergent learners. Alongside my tutoring and educational writing, I run a range of projects that celebrate reading, creativity and community learning — including this site, Kate Coldrick’s Book Corner, where I revisit the picture books that shaped my own childhood and share recommendations and reflections for today’s readers.
